An endless stretch of emerald green waters polka-dotted by green stretches of land adorns the backwaters of Kerala. This geographical location is one of the most appealing tourist destinations in Kerala called the Munroe Island, locally known as Munroethuruth. Munroe is a cluster of 8 islands located at the confluence of Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River. The Island is a green paradise.
Recently though, the green fields have been threatened by the risk of extinction. The appearance of high tides, and the recent floods, have left the low-lying parts of the island facing the threat of being submerged under water. The rising tides have come to be a great nuisance to the residents of the island as the water tends to seep into their homes. As we set to adorn the skies with 3000 plus kites and create an Asian record, in an effort to raise awareness about the pristine islands and the condition of the islanders, we request you to come join us on the 17th of March at Kollam beach for the National Kite Flying Festival.
